KDE Plasma crashes after login. I have experienced crashes on KDE Plasma since yesterday I updated my systems. I have two computer, one desktop and one laptop, with Manjaro KDE. After the updates, when I login I have the glimpse of the desktop then it goes to a black screen. All the panels and widgets are lost except for Latte dock.

17.09.2020 · I have an Asus ROG Strix GL502VS 7th-Gen, with KDE Plasma and SDDM installed. I use the proprietary NVidia drivers. After typically the second time i don't interact with my computer and it goes to sleep, when I wake my screen I get a black screen with only a cursor.

Install VirtualBox Guest Packages - virtualbox-guest-utils and xf86-video-vmware . It may also be needed - virtualbox-guest-dkms .

Black Screen after login with X11 I already searched on the net and seems a common case in the past when there was an update. In my case is very strange, because I was using today the laptop as usual, I executed pcsxr as fullscreen and from that moment the screen is black.

Anywho, my issue is that after booting from grub I am greeted with about 1 frame of the login screen followed by unresponsive black screen.

26.08.2020 · I replicated things, but now I'm getting a black screen after the disk check (when sddm is supposed to start). I can login to tty2 and disable sddm.service. When it's disabled I can login at tty1 and use "startx" to start my Plasma session (everything in it is working as expected). Here's the sddm part from the log:
