20.09.2019 · When trying to log with Plasma (Wayland), i got black screen with small squared color lines in middle-bottom of the screen (like problem with the video driver). At least i can run on Linux Mint for now but if i need to re-install, i think i'll get back with Manjaro-KDE...

Hi, I am running Manjaro KDE using Wayland and everytime my monitor turns off the taskbar dissapears and i have the type the following. I have to ctl alt t to bring up terminal and type kstart5 plasmashell in order to get the taskbar to come back up. (Using Display Port on an LG 4k Monitor) Operating System: Manjaro Linux.
28.08.2021 · Updated 22 November, 2021. Recently, I repurposed an old desktop machine to be a headless server for running machine learning and ArchiveTeam stuff. In its former life it ran Manjaro alongside Windows 10, so I figured I might as well stick with Manjaro in its new role.. Of course, since it would be running headless, I needed to install a remote desktop solution.
Tried Wayland on NVIDIA today. *Almost* everything works. I've been using KDE Plasma 5 under Kubuntu for years now, and everything has long worked perfectly out of the box under X11. I consider it by far the most polished Linux desktop environment there is. Today I tried Plasma 5 on Wayland with Kubuntu 21.04 and the NVIDIA 460 proprietary driver.
26.08.2020 · I replicated things, but now I'm getting a black screen after the disk check (when sddm is supposed to start). I can login to tty2 and disable sddm.service. When it's disabled I can login at tty1 and use "startx" to start my Plasma session (everything in it is working as expected). Here's the sddm part from the log:

06.10.2020 · Manjaro 20 Gnome has been running great for a month on my AMD 64-bit desktop until an update 2 days ago. Now it boots to a black screen. I found a temporary solution and have to hold down Ctrl + Alt + F2 to get to a tty2. Than I log in and type startx. That brings up the gui. Before the update Manjaro would boot right to the desktop gui.
