The bcmamodule is just the driver for the PCI/PCIe interface module, which will act as a "bridge" between the PCI/PCIe bus and Broadcom's proprietary bus. Once loaded, it will identify the other modules on the Broadcom bus and auto-load drivers for them if possible. The brcmsmacis the driver for the actual WiFi hardware module.

We hope we see the driver in use is only wl and not bcma, bcma-pci-bridge, etc. and that your wireless works as expected.

02.05.2018 · Kernel driver in use: bcma-pci-bridge. @eugen-b I've found that every time bcma-pci-bridge shows up as the broadcom driver the driver install is borked. Switching kernels will be very unlikely to help. I've helped 3 or 4 people in the last couple weeks where this issue has shown up with a variety of broadcom chips.
