Dec 09, 2014 · If you're using Ubuntu, you can just use Disks (It's installed by default and on liveCD) to create a new partition table by formatting the whole drive. I've never used a Samsung SSD, but sometimes on Intel SSDs updating firmware can solve a lot of issues. Thanks for the reply. I've tried using Disks, but it also failed.

Apr 27, 2020 · The instructions are for you to open the Disks software/utility in order to test the HDD. Make sure it is selected in the list of drives in the left panel then click the 3 dots button in the top right corner and select "SMART data & Self-Test". Another Windows will open.

Replace Partition on Certain Partition Schemes With Calamares Fails Installs replacing a partition may fail with this bug . As a workaround; reboot, use KDE Partition Manager to delete the ‘unknown’ partition that exists, create the partition using the format you want (ext4, btrfs & xfs were tested & worked), deactivate swap partitions & exit KDE Partition Manager.

Here you need to add mount point to Lubuntu partition you created ( usually / ). I couldn't find this in gparted. Make sure you don't select format partition during installation.
