I remembered that the latest nvidia drivers philm suggested removing linux***-nvidia and installing nvidia-dkms which worked.

I downloaded the pkgbuilds for lib32-nvidia-utils, nvidia-dkms, and nvidia-settings. In each pkgbuild i changed the version number to be the version of the beta driver. After that I ran makepkg -s in each folder to get the actual packages, then i moved them all to one folder and ran sudo pacman -U ./*

20.05.2021 · Hey, I have updated my Install yesterday, which included upgrades from Kernel 5.12.1 to 5.12.2 and some other stuff. Starting X instantly deadlocks and i can’t access ttys. Doesn’t matter if nvidia drivers are installed via mhwd or manually using the nvidia-dkms package. I am now on my Intel iGPU but would like to use my GPU again, what can i do?

It looks like 470.62.05 broke prime graphics offload. If you compare the output of something like "prime-run vulkaninfo" between 470.62.02 and 470.62.05 on a system with integrated AMD and discrete NVIDIA graphics, you'll find that in the newer driver the NVIDIA GPU is enumerated as the second GPU, so no Vulkan apps will use it.
