On pop os I would recommend using the built in utility (system76-power) and just letting it do it’s thing. On distros like fedora or ubuntu I’d recommend using power-profiles-daemon which has integration with lenovo made firmware.

Pop OS vs Manjaro. Find Me A Distro. Hey guys! Thinking about using Linux only.(Currently dualbooting Debian) So I will want a distro that can be used for gaming and coding. After looking for a while I narrowed the search down to manjaro, which is based on Arch and Pop OS by System 76, which is based on Ubuntu, thus is based on Debian.

I would say that battery life is better than Ubuntu, but still much worse than Windows 10. My laptop gets ~8 hours on Windows, ~4.5 hours on Pop OS, or ~3.5 hours on Ubuntu. I run “battery saving” mode on Pop OS to allow for maximum battery life.

I've seen people recommending Manjaro as well as PopOS for gaming and ... both of them from pendrive and neither of them had any problems.

Manjaro has more DE ISOs, whereas on Pop you have to install them once you have your system set up. On a side note, Pop's Gnome implementation is really good. If i had to chose, i'll stick with Pop, but if you want more chances of making a stubborn game work under Linux, Manjaro, its rolling release and the AUR are your best bet.

The typical battery life I get is around 3 and 1/2 hours (even with the tweaks listed in the topic below and using powertop). Prior to running Manjaro on this machine I ran Antergos Gnome.
