I don't think that Manjaro is the best, IMO it's Ubuntu, no big differences though. If you look some page on GOG, the dependencies are from Ubuntu's repo, so you have to search the equivalent package on Manjaro's repositories. But I don't think that it's critical, on OpenSUSE I run all my games except one that I don't find a specific lib. -1

The difference between distros normally lies within the package manager. To answer part of your question, I think Manjaro sucks hard. My reasons for this are their approach to dev work. All of the QA testing is basically just holding back packages, waiting for two weeks, releasing them, and then doing "Works for me!!"

I'm trying to switch to Linux for the millionth time, but for good this time. I'm really torn between Manjaro and Pop OS. I have always used Ubuntu in my previous laptops with Nvidia GPUs and now have a mining PC on Manjaro with Radeon Rx 5700 XT. In my Ubuntu experience with Nvidia laptop, the explanation was simple and logical.

I haven't any major problems with it, and I definitely prefer some features on Manjaro compared to Ubuntu such as the AUR.

I've used both Mint and Manjaro for gaming. I started out on Ubuntu, moved over to Mint, and later tried Manjaro. Linux Mint is a great curated product and has a great community/forum. Once I tried Manjaro KDE/XFCE/Cinnamon and spent a little time in the wiki I was hooked.

If you want to tinker all the time, Mint is probably not the distro for you. Manjaro - generally backed by hobbyist, too much maintenance, pushes updates all the time because it's a so called rolling release. Much fewer professional services rely on Arch so if something breaks, a volunteer is going to have to fix it for you.

For a user new to Linux, especially where you're not using the machine to generate revenue or support a business, there's no practical difference between trying Ubuntu and trying Manjaro. They're both solid distros, and while different in many detail aspects they are both solid, well developed and well supported operating systems.
