If you do a LOT of gathering, than gatherer laborers are great as high tier books return high tier resources that cost a lot. If you craft a LOT, then laborers that return used resources will spare you a lot of money respectively for that crafting.

Assumes each labourer has the best table, bed and trophies available excluding sharks and spyglasses. Labourers cannot work journals higher than their own tier. The sales include the premium tax of 4.5%, non-premium members can expect a lower profit than shown after selling their labourer's output on the market.
