I have never used PleX before but want to give it a shot after all the hype I have heard over the years. I have been using a WDMycloud and DLNA for the past 5+ years and just switched over to Nextcloud and realized that I cant host a DLNA server easily so looking to just build a Plex server on the same Ubuntu install as my Nextcloud install and give it a shot.

You can configure the Plex Library to use the nextcloud user data folder or a subfolder inside. Nextcloud does assume that it is the only application managing files in the data folder. If Plex makes changes to the files, they will not be reflected in Nextcloud.

Like others have said, yes if Plex can see the directory others are adding movies to. One thing to watch out for is that nextcloud expects to be the owner of the data, so if you (or Plex) make changes outside of nextcloud's knowledge it won't automatically scan and get the updated files (or deleted files).

Hello, I am recently setting up a little media server and trying to get nextcloud and plex to "Talk" to each other. I am new to linux and trying to figure out where I have gone wrong.
