11.04.2014 · I have the same problem with Debian 7 and 3.13-0.bpo.1-amd64 kernel when trying to install nvidia-kernel-dkms(also from backports). nvidia-kernel-dkms installs for current kernel 3.13(and file /etc/X11/xorg.conf also exists), but after reboot it boots only to cinsole mode.
