Both my new Dumb AP and my existing Main Router are using OpenWRT. Everything works fine for my LAN network 192.168.1.1. The Dumb AP is broadcasting 2.4 and 5 ghz AP's (the SSID's are the same on both routers) and every client connected to the Dumb AP is acting as though it's on my main router. This is great and what i wanted!

Sometimes this is referred to as a "Dumb Access Point" because router functionality such a NAT, Firewall and DHCP is turned off.

The current dumb AP is an ancient Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH, running OpenWRT 18.06.4. It has a single Ethernet cable, plugged into one of the LAN ports. The WAN port is empty. The wireless interface and LAN interfaces are bridged.
