Open-Wrt is more stable, I tested it on Dir-300 router and an old router works so well with OpenWrt whereas with DD-Wrt it almost doesn't work (freezing, lags). OpenWrt requires a bit more knowledge what you are doing, so a bit more steps to configure vs DD-WRT.
