This may not be a critical issue for you since it is a LAN facing service, but the type of infrastructure information being exchanged combined with the fact that it is usually accessed over WiFi protocols might make you want to consider it – especially considering it is a 5 minute fix.

I'm not too sure about the alternative Web UI landscape, I don't even use LuCI. I think it's a lot of work to maintain a full-featured UI so I wouldn't be surprised if there's are no options for you here, or if there aren't severely limited options.
