Hi all, I am wondering, is there any way to set default solver? Right now it is MUMS (I use wave wave optics module, Frequency domain and Mode analysis), but for my PC it is much faster with PARDISO solver (Intel Core i5-4570, 16GB RAM).

The PARDISO solver, used for shared-memory computations, is also available in the Intel® Math Kernel Library software product. In previous versions, when selecting the PARDISO solver option while running your model on a cluster, the MUMPS solver was used instead, due to the lack of an alternative direct solver on clusters.

Direct. The Direct node () is an attribute that handles settings for direct linear system solvers. Use it together with a Stationary Solver, Eigenvalue Solver, and Time-Dependent Solver, for example. The attribute can also be used together with the Coarse Solver attribute when using multigrid linear system solvers.

The following pertains to the Direct attribute node. All linear system solvers above work on general sparse linear systems of the form Ax = b and use LU factorization on the matrix A to compute the solution x.In doing so, they use a preordering algorithm that permutes the columns of A to minimize the number of nonzeros in the L and U factors. Popular preordering algorithms …

31.05.2019 · Hi Lasse, I believe that you are experiencing a memory limit warning with PARDISO. When the memory (e.g RAM) used by PARDISO is full, PARDISO tries (if enabled - I think it is enabled by default) to switch from the current in-core mode to an out-of-core mode where it will store/manipulate data on the disk space available in the temporary Comsol folder on your hard …
