Dec 31, 2018 · 13. Dec 31, 2018. #1. I had a Raid 10 ZFS pool over 4 HDD with a SSD cache, and I thought "I wish I had known about ZFS sooner". So I put together a Raid 10 ZFS pool over 4 SSD (and later added a SSD cache), and am thinking to myself, what did I miss? I have compression on. These numbers are worse than the 7200RPMs! HP SSD S700 500GB drives x 4.

Normally you only add L2ARC if you cant add ram AND cache hits are too low. Is there a real gain using a ssd cache for zfs for a storage pool?

Dec 16, 2015 · For now, on my proxmox install ssd disk not appears, it is not inicialited (i can´t see it with a cfdisk /dev/sdc for example). So the next step should be inicializate disk -acording all i have reading- make 2 partitions, one for ZIL and other for L2ARC, in commandline like: gpart destroy -F sdc // First i should debete current partitions on sd.

May 17, 2019 · You could install Proxmox on a small partition 16GB (ZFS Mirror), use a second partition for RAIDz2 with L2ARC cache (I named: Storage_zPool) and a 3rd partition for Swap (Not part of ZFS) remember divede the total swap size by 2 and that should be the partition size, you will end with two swap partition one on each disk.
