I also dont have a lot of experience with ZFS. Long story short I decided to try and install windows to play a few games. I unplugged power from HDD's and swapped power and sata from SSD to a small HDD to install windows. On rebooting back to Proxmox I kicked myself remembering windows wipes the MBR so I currently dont have a bootable system.

19.04.2021 · What version of Proxmox and ZFS are you using? Maybe it is possible to evict all data from a vdev with the latests ZFS, I'm not sure about that. Alternatives are creating a new pool, copy everything and rename it to rpool, which is quite a bit of work, or to reinstall Proxmox and restore from backup.
