03.07.2012 · You will have to ensure that the X-server is started before x11vnc. Since there is no ordinary user logged in at boot-time, the X-server will have to be displaying a login screen - i.e. you will need a display manager such as xdm, gdm or kdm running.

As an alternative you can install the tigervnc xorg extension who work better in my opinion than X11vnc. Oct 13, 2020 · Job for x11vnc.service failed because a timeout was exceeded. See "systemctl status x11vnc.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. There is no conclusive answer on systemctl status x11vnc.service or journalctl -xe but I can supply if needed. Another thing I noticed is that the ports 5900, 5901 could be open or closed in different boots.

I just launched it from the main menu – it’s under internet after a “normal” install 2) Use the system tray gui to tweak settings, and then under Advanced – Actions – Settings use the save-settings command to create a config file “~/.x11vncrc”.
