When I first installed pgadmin3, I was able to launch it using the command "pgadmin3 &", and PG Admin would launch correctly using my local X server. Something has happened though, and now PG Admin will no longer launch. It bounces back with the message "Error: Unable to initialize gtk, is DISPLAY set properly?"

It is just a commandline tool. If I start it in a termainal emulation on Gnome it work correct. If I start it in a real terminal (tty) it says "unable to initialize gtk+".

I cannot remember why. If for some reason you are not using DISPLAY=:0 or :1 then we could investigate discovering what the DISPLAY value is but I won't drown you in ...
