I personally believe they are actually doing a "full" not an incremental and verifying it which is why it takes so long. My first backup I had to kill 2 times because of how long it was running.
Almost all of the VM's having average speed of 2~10 MB/s which is very slow.. I was reading about 'Veeam backup proxy' but I didn't understand it much, I also have no clue if we are using it, since we are using the free edition of veeam, I don't really know where to configure such thing, I couldn't find anything in the GUI.
Solution: Interesting- What Backup mode are you using? How is your job set up? I am wondering if there is a setting in the job that is making Veeam re-read ...

27.07.2021 · We are new to Veeam for Office 365 backup, and have finally gotten everything setup and running. However, we're seeing incredibly slow backup times sometimes (10-20K per second). This primarily occurs when trying to back up our main sharepoint site which is about 65GB and about 75K items.

Veeam Backup and Replication extremely slow due to different subnet. Hi there, I was recently able to set up a new esxi host and wanted to configure veeam, but the backup process is extremely slow. I have probably figured out why it is very slow, but i'm not sure how to fix it. The setup is very simple.
