30.10.2012 · Source bottleneck - Odd. We have vSphere 4.0 and Veeam B&R 6.1 installed on a Server 2008 VM. Our VMs are all running on the same datastore which is made up from several LUNs on the same RAID group on a iSCSI SAN. We are seeing an odd problem whereby the backups never go above about 25 Mb/sec and Veeam is reporting the Source as the bottleneck.

That said, there always will be a bottleneck, in any setup and, as far as I can get, you're also backing up proxy server in these jobs, however, proxy cannot hotadd itself (so is backed up using network) and CBT cannot be used for backing it up, so this affects the overall job performance …
