08.01.2021 · Case ID: 04578267. Installed Veeam B&R 10a for a customer, we got Veeam 10 running for other customers without any issues but this one drives me crazy. The customer just got one physical server and i am trying to set up a proper backup but it won't start the backup task. Everytime it fails with "unable to process server: host rescan is required".

10.12.2021 · Veeam Backup & Replication automatically creates this job once you create the first protection group in the inventory. The rescan job runs upon schedule defined individually for every protection group in the protection group settings. By default, Veeam Backup & Replication is set up to perform discovery at 9:00 PM daily.
Unable to process (server IP): Host rescan is required The server that is being backed up is the same server on which 'Veeam Backup and Replication' is installed. I have done rescans of the cloud repository and of the server itself (backup infrastructure > Managed servers > Microsoft Windows). Both seem to go succesfully. Reboots are also done.
18.02.2021 · Veeam Backup & Replication automatically performs a rescan operation every 4 hours. You can also start the rescan operation manually: Open the Backup Infrastructure view. In the inventory pane, select Managed servers. In the working area, select the server or host and click Rescan on the ribbon.
