30.08.2021 · I have a server I am running VBR 11 on. The option to rescan repositories has just outright disappeared. I have tried closing and re-opening VBR, but this did not resolve the issue. A server reboot has also not resolved the issue.

The rescan is the heart of managed Agents operations, until it completes, successfully, the job will never run. In this case you'll find the machine in the default "manually added" group, that's where machines are dropped when jobs are made at the top level, rather than starting at protection groups and building upwards.

19.08.2012 · You shouldn't need a rescan to find restore points. When a Backup Job makes new files, Veeam already knows about it, so no need for a rescan. Rescans are there for when you're moving backup files around underneath and want Veeam to 'detect' new backups that have been imported from another system / disk / whatever.
