17.05.2021 · There is some big advantages with socket licensing. It is easy to manage, buy a server, buy ESXi license, buy Microsoft datacenter license, buy Veeam and you are ready to go. If you think socket license are too cheap raise the price so that 1 socket license = 20 VUL but don't remove that option. And limit them to 32 cores like VMware.
