Macrium Reflect vs Veeam Endpoint Backup Discussion Hi, I can't decide which program I should use for my backups, I will be following the 3-2-1 rule, but I can't decide between Macrium Reflect and Veeam Endpoint.

In the past I've always used Macrium, and I still think that for dealing with clients who at a push have 10 PCs in 1 place and maybe 0 servers, it's a much better fit. And for clients with servers, their site manager and agents are sooooo much simpler than Veeam, and it's all very reliable.

I use Macrium Reflect Free in my Windows VMs. Seems to do the job well, and every time I open one of the backups to test it, I'm able to restore whatever random file I pick. I haven't had any reason to change software, so I stick with it.

I prefer it over Macrium, because the free edition of Veeam supports incremental backups. And the UI seems less cluttered.

Apr 01, 2018 · Veeam has a simplified look and feel to it whereas Macrium appears like a more traditional program. Macrium also has the hard drive layouts listed which gives you an immediate insight into the computer's disk configuration. Veeam has a more simple interface, only giving you the option to configure a backup or change some settings:

VEEAM is great. MACRIUM REFLECT 7: More complex disk layout (wanting more than 1 plan), great as long as I have the room for the differential backups and actively purge / roll-forward the full. Differentials aren't all bad if you have space on the backup drive to handle them as it can be a quick restore (1 differential + 1 base full).
