Dec 21, 2020 · VMware fails to compile kernel modules because it cannot find kernel headers for the running kernel. You're trying to install package kernel-headers-$ (uname -r) while running an ELRepo kernel. This fails because ELRepo kernel packages are named differently: kernel-ml, kernel-ml-headers, kernel-ml-devel. ml means mainline.
