15.04.2020 · TightVNC only works after physically connecting a monitor. Interested if anyone knows a workaround. Without a monitor, TightVNC only shows a black screen. Troubleshooting so far (firewall off, reboot, reinstall TightVNC although this is consistent across multiple PCs.) W10 version is 1909. Win7 never did this.

17.05.2018 · Upgrade VNC Server to version 6.5.0, as this version contains some changes to try and automatically recover from a blank screen; Change your Power settings on the VNC Server computer to never turn off the monitors/displays; Check that Windows is not set to a "Battery Saver" power mode; Connect an EDID emulator to the VNC Server computer.

It does not happen all the time and one of our students observed that this issue happens consistently when she hovers her mouse on the VNC Config icon on the top left hand corner.
