I just logged on to my NAS using SSH, and realized that it actually uses the secondary DNS (OpenDNS), instead of my own hosted DNS server. That could be why it doesn't work. My Pi-Hole server is running in Docker on my Synology, but gets its own IP from my routers DHCP server. The Synology is not able to ping the server it is hosting itself.
