You currently need 30 days of premium to be able to buy an island, so it won't work with the 3 day premium item I guess. But thinking about it I'm not sure if it counts when you had 30 days at any point and then would only need 1 day of premium now.

Then go to albiononline.com/en/shop/subscriptions and the subscription you like ... It will auto-renew once you have three days of premium left in the game.
