When I attempted to connect, I only get a black screen with breeze style cursor. When I restart vncserver@:1, i also get a KDE splash screen, but would end up in the black screen and cursor again. No log in screen or desktop available. I checked ~/.vnc/archlinux:1.log, it shows that the connection was accepted and connected.

Nov 16, 2015 · I replicated things, but now I'm getting a black screen after the disk check (when sddm is supposed to start). I can login to tty2 and disable sddm.service. When it's disabled I can login at tty1 and use "startx" to start my Plasma session (everything in it is working as expected). Here's the sddm part from the log:
