21.02.2019 · Needless to say, these issues were not alerted on, and therefore not acted on before it could cause an issue. The host rebooted, and the virtual machine was forced down before disk merging could be completed. After the Hyper-V host complete the reboot, the virtual machine configuration file was missing, and the virtual machine would not start.
