Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not confirming the disk space of the drive housing the VHDx and AVHDX files. The checkpoint merge failed. My issue now is that although the assigned Hard Drive for that VM is the avhdx file, the checkpoint is missing in both Hyper-V Manager and Powershell's Get-VMSnapshot commandlet.
