24.04.2020 · 2020 IIHF Men’s World Ranking Due to the lack of tournaments there has been few movements in the 54-country ranking. The top-10 remain the same and are led by Canada followed by Russia, Finland and Sweden. Click here for the full ranking. The top-8 countries of the 2019 IIHF Men’s World Ranking are automatically qualified for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament while the others have to go through the qualification tournaments that begin in half a year (see previews news).

Eight nations have achieved a top ten ranking every year between 2003–2013, they are: Canada, Sweden, Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, the United States, Slovakia, and Switzerland. An additional four nations, Germany (8 years), Latvia (6 years), Belarus (5 years), and Norway (3 years) have been in the top ten at least once.
