there are many nvidia blackscreen issues if it's blackscreen with mouse cursor, that's a new sddm issue switch to another session and login-ctl unlock-sessions, return back to unlocked session blindly type password and login use other dm if it's blackscreen without signal (which is likely harder to check on laptop)

I just installed manjaro KDE and then Optimus-switch on my Dell inspiron 15 7559(apparently it is a problematic laptop). It has a gtx 960m with drivers installed with mhwd. When booting in Intel mode it works fine but when I switch to the nvidia mode it boots up to a black screen. I can still access terminal with ctrl+alt+f2.
