AMDGPU-Pro doesn't support Arch/Manjaro and is actually slower with gaming (except for a select few Vulkan titles) so the really isn't a good reason to run them. 2-3 years ago Manjaro was amazing for how easily it installed Catalyst (old proprietary driver) which WAS needed but thankfully those days are over and I never look back.
I'm using Linux Manjaro 0.8.13 on my laptop and want to install proprietary drivers. Here is what I have: At first, I've tried to install drivers using "Manjaro Settings Manager" and "Hardware detection". Right-clicked on "video-catalyst", then "Install", rebooted and got black screen without X. Then I've tried to install it manually.

11.04.2021 · I would always recommend booting with open source drivers that way your system will boot without any issues. If you have a laptop with dual (intergrated and dedicated) you can install nvidia prime drivers after you have booted. I am on Intel. Lenovo Thinkpad e14 gen2.

NVIDIA Proprietary (non-free) drivers. If you have a Nvidia card, you have the option to use the proprietary (closed source = non-free) drivers instead of the open source (free) nouveau driver. For Legacy/older nvidia cards, Manjaro maintains older drivers for compatibility.
