But a definit solution to rule out any issues would be if Nextcloud altered the database automatically according to config.txt entry, to have a single matching entry for local data dir only.

The one I used also comes preconfigured as a 20GB disk VHD. Immediately after installation I realized the need to move the data directory to a larger virtual disk.
