06.07.2019 · unfortunately Packet Tracer is full of quirks, since it is not using real routers but rather subsets of the IOS. One of these quirks seems to be that the DHCP server does not send along the default gateway for clients that are in the same VLAN as the DHCP server itself.

Can not ping DNS server in packet tracer configuration. I have a router on a stick configuration in packet tracer. I have added a DNS and email configuration. I can ping the DHCP and the email server from the connected PC's, but I cannot ping the DNS server. I think that's the reason the email is not working between Pc's.
