Apr 11, 2020 · I am building a server and was wondering if there was a way to share the local proxmox storage as a SMB share or a NFS share over the local network. I googled but the only hits I found were related to adding a share to the proxmox or a LXC container. Nothing about using the proxmox storage as a share.

To create an NFS server on Proxmox, you have to install nfs-kernel-server via the command line. After that, there are tutorials online which will help you edit the /etc/exports file, which tells nfs-kernel-server which folders to share, and who to share them with. Gotcha. I'll give it a try again.

Mar 19, 2021 · This is probably a bug in Proxmox 6.3-3. Apparently, if you login via CLI and run the df command, you will see that the NFS share is already mounted and you can also see the size and whatnot. However, in the web UI it is not present.
