That's the Thing iam only using Manjaro Xfce and KDE on a test VM and also try getting a feeling for setting up Arch (wichs probably not as hard as I make it) but for me as a current Windows user doesn't make much a difference they both are way better than Windows the only thing is that xfce was slightly smother and kde was easier to install icons and themes due to graphical interface.

I ran xfce and kde on separate partitions for a while and kde used 100 mb more ram on a fresh boot, idle cpu the same. 100 mb is a low price to pay for running a DE that has whole other level of polish. Manjaro kde has been rock solid for me but to each his own, I would suggest you try both.
