It is connected via iSCSI to the vSphere 6.5 Cluster I have Veeam Backup and Replication 10 installed on a Windows 2016 Server VM Is there a preferred way to set up the target repo on the Synology for the Veeam backups? Thanks
24.12.2021 · When you delete backup files from a disk, Veeam Backup & Replication deletes the whole chain from the Veeam backup repository. Thus, on the next run of the K10 policy, Integration with Veeam Backup Repositories for Kasten K10 will create full backups for applications included added to the job.

You can use the symbology as a repository to store the backups, but if your question is whether or not you can install Veeam on the Synology system itself, then the answer is no. Veeam does not recommend using a Synology for backups. If you absolutely must use it as a backup, I recommend that you take 2 sets of backups. The first set is to the Synology, the second set is to your offsite. Do not use a copy job. This prevents backup corruption in the event that Synology hoses your backup.
