04.12.2019 · Catalog scans tape for content and if some backups are present on the tape, Veeam will see it, can use it to restore, and append new data on the tape. You should run Catalog when you bring non-fresh tape with some data on it. Feel free to read about Inventory and Catalog processes in our documentation. Hope that helps!
