Extremely feature-rich, very stable on its own, but less stable when running many extensions/plugins. The least lightweight option, though still a lot faster than windows.

Hopefully you compared Apples with apples when talking about Gnome vs. XFCE, because Ubuntu and Pop load up all sorts of plugins which slow down and use up memory. These days Gnome really doesn't use much more than XFCE, bad plugins do.
