Dec 06, 2020 · I recently installed Manjaro i3 on my Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop. The installation went smoothly. However, the screen fonts are tiny and barely readable. I’ve managed to get the i3 status bar bigger as well as the font in terminal. I’m hoping there is a system wide setting I can set that scales everything larger? I would then tweak the settings on an app-by-app basis. Thanks…

ksjk1998. · 5y · edited 5y. ubuntu in the streets, manjaro in the sheets. my conf file is located at /home/ [username]/.config/i3/config (or ~/.config/i3/config), if it's not there then try .i3/config. Open it in a text editor and find the line that says font pango. Next to the font name is the size. Change it to around 8.
If all fonts everywhere are too small you can work around it by changing display settings, e.g., what I do with my htpc and telly is to set dpi value. Setting them via gnome control center or whatever should work if you start gnome-settings-daemon in ~/.i3/config, otherwise, settings are in like ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and ~/.config/gtk-3.0.
