Noob question: Should I use LTS or normal version : pop_os
www.reddit.com › r › pop_os
To clarify this point. Update to an LTS then update past it when a new version comes out. So when 20.04 (lts) releases update to that, then when 20.10 releases update to that and DON'T stay on the LTS until the next one (22.04) 3) Pop_os is based on Ubuntu. Ubuntu releases a new version every 6 months (in April and October).

31.10.2017 · Manjaro kernels offer a very good compromise between these two, so I'd just stick with the normal kernel. RT are special purpose kernels and not really meant for everyday usage. There are many possibilities to fine-tune a kernel in either direction, but you would have to compile your own kernel.
Should I use the LTS kernel? : ManjaroLinux

I have been using GNU/Linux for 7 years, but I use it for regular home use so I have never touched something related to system, like kernel, in fear of breaking the OS. The installed kernel on my freshly installed Manjaro is 5.9.16-1 which is not an LTS kernel. That scares me tbh, because I never use something non-LTS.

Now to answer your question. If you want to use Pop_OS (I love it) then wait until 20.04 is release (end of April/beginning of May) and use that. Then when 20.10 is release (October/November) update to that. Also you can just install pop_os 19.10 and get the 20.04 update when it rolls out.
