22.08.2014 · The R8000 works brilliantly with teh DD-WRT firmware. My only critisism is that the WPS funtion doesn't seem to work in the first release. Hopefully this will come in future. As a word of warning the hidemyass configuration script for open VPN doesn't work.

Oct 13, 2008 · Download the latest firmware dd-wrt.K3_R8000_6.chk file which is a Kong file 2. Factory reset the firmware in the Netgear R8000 by pushing the button on the back of the Router 3. Mar 31, 2019 · On my r8000 when I had put dd-wrt on it I had to resort to the serial cable route. Lots of folks seem to have problems getting the timing just right with the tftp which I have done. I typically have 2 windows command windows open one for the tftp command ready to be started and the other with a constant ping of the router's default address.

Dec 30, 2019 · I just recently purchased a new Netgear R8000 router and loaded the latest version of DD-WRT (v3.0-r41811). I am noticing that the stock firmware that came with the Netgear has much better performance vs. when running ddwrt. With the Netgear stock firmware I am able to achieve speeds of 300Mbps (via speedtest.net) on the 5Ghz band.

21.05.2018 · The Netgear firmware currently installed is 1.0.4.12_10.1.46. The fw_version when applying a DD-WRT file would always be the 1.0.2.99_1.1.99. However, when applying a Netgear stock file, it would state the firmware version I was attempting to apply.

It just keeps going wrong in different ways on both routers. The R7000 doesn't show attached device correctly now, but once did. Now also cannot name devices. Named devices on Access Control never worked.

What I need to know is, must I revert back to stock firmware first or can I flash directly from the DD-WRT web interface to the OpenWRT .chk ...
