I read up a little and apparently Nvidia is now supporting Wayland/xWayland on their drivers. How's the KDE Wayland support with Nvidia GPU's? 9.

Nvidia + Nouveau + Wayland: Logs in, and instantly freezes my machine. Nvidia + Proprietary + Wayland: Either no log in possible or it logs me in and instantly renders the UI completely useless (still working, i can see my mouse). It tears up and moves parts all over the place. It's not that with Nouveau it's unuseable.

That's honestly not Nvidia mostly, just the current state of KDE wayland. I had the same performance and stability issues trying to log into it with an AMD card I briefly owned before switching back because of driver issues as I do with Nvidia. On the plus side stability is getting noticeably better over time.

05.12.2021 · Well you didn't mention Wayland previously, I doubt there's any distribution that enabled Wayland by default on nvidia yet. And there are a lot of smaller issues still with Wayland or at least KDE's/Qt's implementation of it irregardless of nvidia.
