My computer has an Intel i5 4690k and NVIDIA GTX 970, running 5.11.7-arch1-1 and Plasma 5.21.3. When I downloaded KDE, I got the packages specifically for KDE: plasma-meta, kdialog, packagekit-qt5, ark, konsole, and dolphin. And then to get the wayland support I got plasma-wayland-session.

That's honestly not Nvidia mostly, just the current state of KDE wayland. I had the same performance and stability issues trying to log into it with an AMD card I briefly owned before switching back because of driver issues as I do with Nvidia. On the plus side stability is getting noticeably better over time.
