I've run the guides to use VNCserver and viewer.. older distro's no problem, 12 was brilliant, but I'm the midst of joining the modern world.. when I try it on 18.04 I just log into a grey box. I tried some tricks with lxde and file editing, and it only worked once, then it was black screen.. purged all that.
