R8000 DD-WRT is finally here!! It is because of DD-WRT !

I am moving soon and will come into possession of a Netgear R8000 and i was planning on setting it up with DD-WRT so i can have some of the advanced features such as VPN and a few other things. I had a couple questions though. What is the best/most stable firmware for this model? I am seeing a lot of conflicting information online.

22.08.2014 · The R8000 works brilliantly with teh DD-WRT firmware. My only critisism is that the WPS funtion doesn't seem to work in the first release. Hopefully this will come in future. As a word of warning the hidemyass configuration script for open VPN doesn't work.
