Dec 28, 2021 · My MacBook is connected to one port and the Pi running OpenWRT is connected using another port. My MacBook pro is connected to the same switch as the Pi and the internet is working fine. I have Wi-fi disabled on my Mac. I can ping the Raspberry pi from my MacBook (ping 192.168.1.200) with no issues and vice-versa.

In the OpenWrt admin web interface, go to Network → Diagnostics and Click on “ping” button or, if using OpenWrt SSH command line, you can use the command ping openwrt.org This should return “0% packet loss” if everything is alright with your Internet connection

Apr 22, 2020 · To do this: From the Network → Interfaces page, click the Edit button next to the LAN interface. The “ IPv4 Address” field will show the LAN address found above. Enter a new address, that differs from the WAN address. For example, the LAN address after a fresh OpenWrt installation will be 192.168.1.1.
May 26, 2018 · When I try to ping X from Y, I cannot get it to work. Also, I can't ping the mesh IP addresses as well from the operating system terminal. But when I am logged to the OpenWrt via terminal, I am able to ping any IP addresses within the mesh. I have captured some 802.11s beacon frame which I am adding to the post.
