20.09.2020 · Backup a Linux PC to a Synology NAS using Veeam! WunderTech September 20, 2020 Linux In this tutorial, we are going to look at how you can use Veeam to backup a Linux PC to an SMB share. The SMB share will be hosted on a Synology NAS and after the backup is successful, we will look at restoring individual files/doing a bare-metal restore.
This setup allows us to seamlessly integrate Synology NAS devices into Veeam as a standard Linux server and repository which means that all the data transform operations take place in the OS itself, directly on the disks. There are other ways to integrate the Synology NAS devices that make more sense in different design scenarios.

24.02.2021 · I use the free Veeam agent to do a weekly bare metal backup to Synology and then use Synology Active Backup for Business for daily backups of PC, and if I ever need to do a file restore. Veeam weeklies then get sent up to B2 using HyperBackup.
